Student VISA and Travel
- The student visa to study in IAB is issued by the Indonesia Immigration Authorities.
- IAB will process the Student Visa only upon receiving full student documents and full registration fee payment.
- Visa application takes about 4 to 6 weeks to approve.
- The Indonesia Immigration Authority will issue an In-Principle-Approval of the Student Visa following which IAB will email a copy of the approval for applicants to make full tuition fee payment.
- Applicants would need to collect their student visa personally from the Indonesia Embassy in Singapore.
- IAB will arrange for the collection in Singapore while on transit to IAB if visas are ready at that point in time.
- Where visas are approved subsequent to the students having started their courses in Bintan, students will be required to travel to Singapore for visa collection.
- Should the student not be allowed to enter Singapore for visa collection, he/she will have to make arrangements to collect the visa at one of the Indonesian embassies in the ASEAN countries.
- All costs associated with visa collection under (b) and (c) will be borne by students.
- As there is presently no international airport in Bintan yet, we recommend that applicants travel to Singapore for visa processing.
- They would need a valid travel visa to Singapore. (For those countries requiring travel visa for entry into Singapore).
- Applicants can apply for their Singapore travel visa at the Singapore Embassy or Consulate in their home country or engage the services of a travel agency; all at the applicant's own expense.
- Applicants are advised to apply for a multiple entry visa to Singapore for ease of travel.
- IAB will assist applicants with the necessary documentation for application of their travel visa, if required.
- Upon getting the travel visa, applicants are required to book their own air ticket to Singapore and inform IAB of the flight booking details at least 5 working days before their scheduled flight.
- IAB has the right to ask the applicants to change their flight schedule if this condition is not met.
- The travel to Singapore will be at applicants’ own expense.
- Applicants are required to bring along the student visa In-Principle-Approval to show to the Singapore Customs for entry into Singapore.
- IAB shall not be responsible if applicants are deported back to their home country for failing to show the approval at the Singapore Customs.
- IAB’s personnel will meet the applicants at the airport on the day of arrival.
- They will then be transported to the Indonesia Embassy for the collection of their student visa on the same day if visas have been applied prior to arrival and are ready for collection.
- If their arrival is in the afternoon, they may be required to stay overnight in Singapore and do their collection the following day; if it is not a weekend, otherwise they would need to stay over the weekend.
- IAB will assist applicants with their hotel bookings.
- If visas have not been applied, students will be required to travel to Singapore for visa collection.
